Veronica Start is a singer/songwriter and writer from Vancouver, Canada, who is always adding to her collection of songs with the first dance/pop single entitled ‘You’re a Star’. This debut track received rave reviews, with it's engaging empathy, uplifting with a rich intensity that delivers one of the most memorable choruses you’ll hear this year. As a recording artist, Veronica has achieved international airplay with her music being supported by the world's top radio & club DJ's like Sasha, Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Graham Gold, Alan Freed (BPM, XFM), Matt Darey, Paul Kershaw, Darren Tate, and Adam White; with mainstream radio exposure on Kiss100 & Galaxy FM. Veronica’s music didn’t get going until arriving in Vancouver, after leaving her northern Alberta roots, where already she won a variety of radio and talent competitions . She then began performing on demos for underground producers, ‘Groovemen’ as their key soul-diva singer. She quickly moved onto to being featured on the “Finesse & Showbiz” debut CD (Johnny Jet Records) produced by Troy (Golden Child) Samson and John (West End Girls) Dexter. Veronica earned her road-license by touring with Sam Feldman’s top 40 cover-band ‘Culture Shock’ where she performed techno and pop hits at the top clubs in Vancouver (Richard on Richard’s, The Big Bamboo, and Craig’s Place), Jasper and Edmonton. Club DJs often were not impressed as Culture Shock out-performed their best dance-floor fillers! A lover of all music, Veronica took her voice to acoustic music, performing jazz standards with Vancouver producer/guitarist Joe Cruz, (Cruz Music). Jazz further developed her already impressive voice, which has a seemingly unlimited range of control, depth, personalities and power. Learning Logic Audio and Pro Tools changed Veronica’s life as she finally began programming the original songs filling her head, drawing from her rich life experiences and vast repertoire of genres and styles. Songs come quick and fast to Veronica and she always looks forward to more collaborations and songs to come, with many releases in the works for 2007. Veronica is proud of her Métis background – a Canadian term describing a blend of Native American Indian and French. Humble beginnings and tough emotional experiences have embedded this artist’s voice with a penetrating potency you’ll not forget. Veronica Start is now living near London, England. |
